UNDERSTANDING YOUR HORSE’S EMOTIONS
Thursday 16th October, 2014 at 7.30pm
Nottingham Trent University, Brackenhurst Campus

Have you ever wondered what your horse is thinking?  We’re sure that you won’t be alone! What does it see, hear, smell, and feel, and how do emotions affect its very existence?

We’re delighted that equine natural therapist - Larry Bensusan - is coming along to Nottingham Trent University’s Brackenhurst campus to help us discover more about this fascinating subject.

During the course of what promises to be an enlightening evening, Larry will lead us on a journey of discovery. If we can understand the way horses see the world—in every sense of the word—we can unlock the key to their emotions and understand what prompts them to do certain things.

By highlighting many characteristics of the horse that are often overlooked by owners and riders, Larry will reveal many aspects of the horse that will be unknown to many - and will explain why and how this can help us with our training. He will also explore how our own emotions and actions can affect the horse.

Larry has been working with owners, and treating their horses, for nearly 20 years…covering all equine disciplines from police horses to race horses, the famous and not so famous. During his day to day work with horses, he often wondered what these magnificent creatures were thinking…and was prompted to find the answer.  Through scientific research, and his own experience, he has made startling findings. He is now the author of the best-selling book on the subject “Understanding Your Horse’s Emotions”.

Nottingham Trent University’s Academic Team Leader for Animal and Equine, Heather Elston said: “We look forward to welcoming Larry to Brackenhurst to learn about his scientific findings and experiences with regard to the equine mind – and to hear his thoughts as to how they can be applied to the day to day management and training of the equine.  Whether you’re an equine enthusiast, professional or happy hacker – we believe that the evening will be of interest to you”.

Advance tickets – purchased before Friday 10th October 2014 are available at £15 per person. Light refreshments are provided.
